Thank God for IED's?

Remember the loonies from the Westboro Baptist Church in Kansas? They're the folks that insist on protesting at soldier's funerals. Nice, huh?
Requires Adobe Reader

Well, a federal judge, Karen K. Caldwell, has temporarily barred Kentucky from enforcing a law that bans protests at military and other funerals, saying it appears to go too far in limiting free speech.

ACLU lawyer Lili Lutgens said she is pleased with the order because "it reinforces the importance of freedom of expression." The ACLU supports the state's efforts to prevent disruption at funerals, "but it's not necessary to violate the Constitution to do this," she said.

Yeah, 'protesting' a soldier's funeral because God hates 'fags' makes a lot of sense.

Crazy. Absolutely certifiable...

Gitmo Detainees Love Harry Potter

Terrorists held captive at this U.S. military base are confined to small cells, but their minds can wander far and wide by reading philosophy, history, murder mysteries and even Harry Potter.

Some 'detainees' have tried to use books to pass messages to each other, comprising some of the 414 "unauthorized communications" that were intercepted at Guantanamo during the past year, military officials say.
ABCNews.com

Here's a short list of books I recommend the terrorists read:

1) I'm O.K., You're O.K - Thomas Harris (self-help book)
2) The Hite Report: A Nationwide Study of Female Sexuality - Shere Hite
3) How To Be a Jewish Mother - Dan Greenburg
4) Free to Choose: A Personal Statement - Milton and Rose Friedman
5) The Satanic Verses - Salman Rushdie
6) The Bible/Torah (any version - hey, it couldn't hurt)

Feel free to add to the list of recommended reading that would be so obviously inappropriate that only the dryest of wits would not find the humor obvious.

No Charges For Flag Burning Teacher

No charges for teacher Dan Holden but he won't return to teaching until the Jefferson County school district decides whether he violated school rules with his unorthodox lesson on freedom of speech.

Back in August, a Louisville teacher, Dan Holden, burned two Americans flags in school claiming he was just trying to get his students to think.

Stuart Middle School seventh-graders were asked to write about what they saw in their classroom August 18th when teacher Dan Holden burned U.S. flags. Their statements were included in the arson investigation file released yesterday. Names were not included because the students are juveniles:
Courier-Journal.com

  • "In social studies on Friday Mr. Holden took a lighter to the America (sic) flag and he burned it to get a reaction from us. Then he told us to go for homework ask are (sic) parents what they thought."

  • Holden "walked in and grabbed a lighter and the flag and caught the flag on fire then told us to right (sic) down what we thought so we did. Then he told us to go home and tell are (sic) parents and wright (sic) down what they said. Then class was over."

  • "Mr. Holden was doing an experiment and wanted us to wright (sic) actual fillings (sic) of how we felt of him burning the flag. So it was just a little social studys (sic) activity."

Just in case you don't know what sic means: usually written parenthetically to denote that a word, phrase, passage, etc., that may appear strange or incorrect has been written intentionally or has been quoted verbatim.

It's abundantly clear that what they really need is additional English classes.

The new judge in the Saddam Hussein genocide trial threw the former Iraqi dictator out of court today, and his lawyers stormed out in protest. Showing yet again that Iraqi/Saddam attorneys still don't have a clue...and probably never will.

    Sicko

Michael Moore is working hard again concocting lies, connecting disconnected events and dicussing issues he's not qualified to discuss.

During a two-hour appearance at the Toronto International Film Festival, Moore discussed his career as a counterculture journalist, 'provocative' filmmaker (his description, not mine...my description would be more like: cartoons for dumb arses) and liberal, and he played three clips from "Sicko," which he said would be in theaters next June.

This is the same film festival that showcased the very biased film "Death of a President". Maybe the film-makers meant Clinton, huh? Not! This is the far-left's dream. Talk about sicko's...

Who, in their right mind, would watch a 'movie' about healthcare?
"Michael Moore is a political activist with a track record for sensationalism. He has no intention of being fair and balanced," said Ken Johnson, senior vice president of the trade group Pharmaceutical Researchers and Manufacturers of America.

    Blogging for Bolton

    John Bolton
Nearly five years after 9/11, we are well into an epic, generational struggle. A struggle that pits freedom against tyranny ... hope against fear ... democracy against Islamic radicalism. The men and women of our Armed Forces are fighting with heroic resolve ... and they deserve to be supported in their mission by diplomats willing to call evil by its name, able to rally our friends and allies behind the global expansion of freedom and democracy, and unafraid to passionately pursue reform of our dysfunctional international institutions.

That's why we need John Bolton's leadership at the United Nations. Unfortunately, his recess appointment expires in January of 2007 ... so we must act now to confirm him permanently.

This month Senate Republicans will do everything they can to break Democrat obstruction and give John Bolton the fair up-or-down vote that he was denied last year. But we need your help to turn up the heat on the Democrats by flooding their offices with your calls in support of Ambassador Bolton and the President's agenda for reforming the waste and incompetence of the United Nations.

So call as many Senators as you are able ... check off the offices that you've called and then click below to register your calls... forward this website to your friends, family, and co-workers so we can keep up the momentum ... and return to the site to see the climbing numbers of calls placed in support of John Bolton.

I've already made two phone calls, I should make the rest of the calls from home, or during my lunch hour tomorrow.

    Blogging for Bolton.

Well looky here, people are already talking!

    9/11 Conspiracies Continue

The moonbat loonies are still at it... Here's a round-up for your enjoyment.

    WBAI New York Fund Raiser
    Requires RealPlayer or equivalent

Here's one that claims that 'galvanic corrosion' had structurally degraded the twin towers beyond repair. So, to save money 'the government' created the conspiracy. Never mind the fact that the whole world saw live on TV Jets actually flying into the WTC!

Reading between the lines (yeah, just a little. A moonbat's interpretation)?
Even before assuming the office of President it was announced by George W. Bush that war was planned:
And so one of Secretary [of Defense] Rumsfeld's first tasks will be ... to develop a strategy necessary to have a force equipped for warfare of the 21st century. -— George W. Bush, Washington DC, December 28, 2000
Of course, there's the Global Socialist Police State theory.

Another moonbat site totally dedicated to blaming America first... Article claims the 'movie', "9/11 Press for Truth", was attended by a 'near capacity crowd'. Heck, why didn't it have a 'more than capacity crowd'? Probably because it's sh*t? Naw, no way...

And then there's the annoying Loose Change II (even more annoying than Loose Change 1. I think the folks behind this were thinking: um...buy a new skateboard or make a stupid move...)

Well, I know what I'm going to be doing this evening. Protesting.

On Tuesday, George Soros comes to Louisville as part of the Kentucky Author Forum. He’ll be interviewed by John Podesta, president of the Center for American Progress, a moonbat progressive policy think tank established in 2003.

He has contributed more than $23.5 million to so-called 527 organizations, including America Coming Together and MoveOn.org (sorry, but I'm not gonna link to those sites). His contributions also included $3 million to the Center for American Progress.

Hmm...that's a lot of money to buy an 'interview'... But then again, we know he has more money than sense.

In Memory of Christopher M. Colastani

I remember sitting at my desk the morning of September 11, 2001. It was such a nice day. Clear autumn skies, the sun shining brightly through the windows. I had been at work for about a half an hour when the customer calls suddenly stopped. Not a single call coming in. Me and my co-workers were perplexed. Sure, there had been
'pockets' of one or two minutes here and there when the calls were idle. But now it had been nearly five minutes. It was truly weird to sit in a room with some 50 other people and not one of them was on the phone (I worked for one of the Baby Bells).

Against company policy I checked the internet. What I found was more horrifying than I could have imagined.

Why on earth would someone fly a plane into the World Trade Center? Was it an accident? Surely it was I thought.

The motive and/or cause had not yet been determined.

Sometime after 9AM I called my friend John that lives in Greenwich Village. He worked just a couple of blocks from the World Trade Center. His place of employment had sent everyone home. Sadly, John told me he saw people jumping from the towers in a desperate attempt to survive.

I wished him well, went to the restroom and got sick...

    Christopher M. Colastani

Christopher grew up in South Orange, N.J. and met Kelly, his wife, in high school. They went to the prom together. He graduated from Dartmouth and became a trader at Cantor Fitzgerald. The young family lived in Hoboken. The night before the attack, Mr. Colasanti gave their girls, Cara and Lauren, their baths as he did every night. Then he showed Cara his baseball card collection.
"We'll be a strong family, the three of us," Kelly said.
"We have to live this way because he was so great. We can't let it not be great here because it was so great."

Christopher loved playing golf, even though he was lousy at it. He rooted for sports teams that were mostly terrible, like the Nets and Jets, just so he could pull for an underdog.

    Chris Colansanti
He gave himself the tongue-in-cheek nickname "The Dominant Force" -- or "Dom" for short -- in the seventh grade, and it stuck with him into adulthood because it was so contrary to everything he was.

On Sept. 11, 2001 Christopher kissed his wife, Kelly, and children, Cara, 4, and Lauren, 1, before catching an early train to arrive by 7:30 a.m. at work as a bond trader on the 105th floor of the World Trade Center's North Tower.

His plan was to get to work early so he could return home early to his family in Hoboken...

Christopher was also at the World Trade Center in 1993 when a truck bomb exploded, killing six people.

God bless Christopher Colasanti and his family. God bless all that lost their lives that day.

    Steve Irwin's Video of Death

By now we all know that there is video out of Steve Irwin's death. The next question is should it be public? I'm still on the fence and quite frankly it isn't for me to say, I believe it should be up to his wife. But I sure hope she gets some consult on this decision as I'm sure she can not be thinking clearly right about now. I say this from experience.

Then again, some of you just may not give a crap.

    From the National Ledger -
The first e-mail question The National Ledger received after we published the fact that there was a video of the actual sting to the heart was "How long until this is plastered all over the web?"

I hope never - but the answer may not be what you think.

A report from Contact Music UK claims Irwin's family are determined to respect his last wishes and allow the harrowing footage to be broadcast.

    Faux Reporting At ABC News?

    You decide:

ABC news filed this lame report today: Documentary Slams U.S. Companies Working in Iraq.

'Documentary'... as in Michael Moore's reality?
    ABCNews.com

The Truth? Oh, you want the truth?: ABC news profits from reporting that U.S. companies are turning a profit working in Iraq.
One mother claimed her son died because the company cut corners, failing to supply armored vehicles or maps (unverified).

"My son is not walking the earth because people he trusted and worked for did not care about him," said Donna Zovko, whose son Jerry Zovko was among the four Blackwater employees killed by insurgents in 2004.
Like they were forced to go Iraq?

He was there only for the money. You have to assume the risk.

Do liberals buy into this propaganda? Of course they do. God luv 'em... Brain power deficit et al...

Are companies NOT supposed to make a profit? Of course they are. No profit = no employees.

Who's the spin miester here? You decide...
